Privacy Policy
1. Summary
Math Agent is a Chrome extension that screenshots problems on your screen, or detects questions on a page, and asks a large language model to solve them. We collect the minimum data needed to make the product work and to bill it. We do not sell your data. We do not store the contents of your screenshots after the answer comes back.
2. What we collect
- Screenshots and detected questions — sent to our backend and forwarded to a third-party model provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google, depending on your model choice) for processing. The image and text are not persisted on our servers.
- Device identifier — a random ID stored in your extension to keep your free-tier quota and any subscription tied to your install. It is not linked to your real identity unless you sign in.
- Account info (optional) — if you sign in, your email and a provider user ID (Firebase/Google). Used to restore Pro across devices.
- Billing info (optional) — handled entirely by Stripe. We receive only a customer ID and subscription status. We never see your card number.
- Anonymous usage events — solve counts, errors, model latency. No screenshot contents included. Used to keep the service running.
3. What we do NOT collect
- The full DOM of pages you visit.
- Browser history outside of pages where you actively trigger Math Agent.
- Keystrokes, clipboard contents, or form values that are not part of a detected question.
- Logins, passwords, or credentials of any kind.
4. Third-party model providers

These providers do not train on your inputs through our API integration. Their data-retention policies apply during the short window they process the request.
5. Data retention
- Screenshots / questions: not stored on our backend.
- Solve history: kept in your extension only (local storage). Clearing site data deletes it.
- Account + subscription: kept while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Anonymous usage events: aggregated and retained up to 24 months.
6. Your rights
You can: (a) uninstall the extension at any time, which stops all data collection; (b) sign out to detach your account from this install; (c) email hello@math-agent.example to request export or deletion of any account-linked data we hold. We respond within 30 days.
7. Children
Math Agent is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in the extension and on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
